Our brain is capable of performing tasks such as remembering all
the phone numbers of our family, friends, and acquaintances. Today,
we do not even know our children’s phone numbers. The brain was
previously used as an alarm. Today we cannot live if we do not have an
alarm, alarm clock or other device next to our bed. We are deteriorating
by leaps and bounds. Today a supermarket cashier does not dare to
subtract or add two or three products in her head. She must use a
computer to do this. Robots are making us useless beings every day.
Our youth and the brain
The most prominent feature of our young people is laziness. This is
a generation that was born with everything it has wanted and when it
has wanted it. To go anywhere, there is any kind of transportation. To
have fun, there are all kind of movies, via Amazon, Videoland, Netflix,
etc; any number of platforms to download all the content you want.
Everything is there, right away when we need it. There is nothing
that is requested that is not received. Clothes, new phone, brand shoes,
if we need to buy something, we just look at one of the “internet search
engines.” Even food can be ordered, we don’t have to go looking for
it, or cook it. Everything is at hand. We no longer have any patience,
everything has to be available instantly. We show a continuous lack
of duty, of consciousness.
I hear from a young boy how most of the children in his class
think. They think there is no need to study too much because a grade
of 5.6 out of 10 (which is equivalent to 6.0) is enough. Why bother
reading or learning for an oral preview that does not count? No, they
think that simply a grade of 5.6 is sufficient.
There are many children in special baccalaureate courses for smart
children with this same lazy mentality. They do their homework quickly
and spend the rest of the time with their addictions of telephone,
PlayStation, tablet, computer, etc.
