CHAPTER 2

                        HEALTH CONCEPT

              Physician, Naturopathy therapist, and Hippocrates

Someone who is a Physician or a Naturopathy therapist has to take
the Hippocratic Oath when he or she graduates. In taking this Oath,
the person swears to uphold specific ethical principles and standards
in exercising his or her profession. But who was Hippocrates?
Hippocrates of Kos (Hippocrates I), was a Greek physician whose
life’s goal was to help and guide people to restore and maintain good
health. He learned medicine from his father and grandfather He was
born in 460 BC and died in 370 BC. He founded the Hippocratic School
of Medicine. From that moment on, medicine became a profession.
This made him the model of the ancient physician, which is why he
is known as the “Father of Medicine.” (1)
